Blood Clouds Water

In a village surrounded by woven metal fences, a young woman with a scarred face prepares for an arranged marriage she never wanted. Every morning, her people gather at the sacred lake to perform the ritual wash, a tradition as necessary as breathing. The elders say the water is their lifeblood. No one questions, no one leaves.

When a beautiful stranger scales the fence one night, she follows him into the forbidden world beyond. Their encounter ends in inexplicable horror: his skin blistering and peeling at her touch, his agonized screams echoing through the darkness.

Desperate to escape her fate, she flees the village, only to discover that everything she believed about her world was a lie. The truth waiting beyond the fence is more devastating than she could imagine, and she has become something she doesn't understand: untouchable, unwanted, and impossibly dangerous.

Now she must choose: remain silent and let her people live in comfortable ignorance, or return with a truth so terrible it could destroy them all.
